I just wanted to say a huge thank you for looking after my lurcher girl Marley. It was her first stay away from home. Your kind, calm and welcoming manner put me immediately at ease, and I could see from your pictures and updates that Marley settled in well and looked very happy. I thought the business side was extremely professional. I hope that we can always book Marley in with you, as I have total confidence in what you do and do not have to worry about her. I can tell she had a great time. Tired but happy !!

I am delighted that at last we have found somewhere that cares and understands the peculiar demands of the wonderful whippet!

Although we have travelled a distance to you, we have not found anywhere locally that looks after their needs as well as you; long walks in the country, cosy arm chairs to rest in, turkey treats on Christmas Day and your wonderful gang of whippets to socialise with- it really is home from home!
I cannot recommend you highly enough to anyone who has a sight hound. Your years of loving, owning and breeding whippets gives you an insight into this gentle and loving breed of dogs.

I have total confidence in you which makes our holiday more enjoyable knowing that the girls are happy and well cared for.

Ourselves and our lovely boy Finn have been lucky enough to find the Whippet Lodge. We know he is happy as when we arrive he cant wait to say hello to Nicky and his doggy friends, tail wagging as he runs down the drive towards Nicky. It is so nice to have peace of mind knowing he will be looked after and loved in our absence. Nicky is very caring and will give you photo updates even on day stays just to let you know how their day is going. Its home from home and we wouldn’t leave him anywhere else.

We bought our whippet puppy just over a year ago from Nicola. She was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of the pups and let us visit as much as we wanted before collecting our pup.The mum and pups were all very happy and well cared for.

Nicola has often had pups back to stay for a few days and we are looking forward to taking our puppy Xena back to see Nicola when we go away, we know she will have a lovely time!

The gardens are secure and a good size for a run around and the house clean tidy and homely. We found Nicola to very dedicated , organised, knowledgeable and friendly.

Nicky looked after our lovely boy Ned when we went away for 2 weeks when he was just seven months old… all whippets love their creature comforts and Ned is no exception.. Nicky provided a fabulous home from home for him, with all the care and comfort that he was used to plus the added benefit of the company of their own lovely whippets, Nelson and Grace. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our holiday and Ned clearly loved his own holiday too!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whippet Lodge as a perfect alternative to traditional kennels for this special breed of dogs

Whippets Lodge is a beautiful sanctuary for Pablo. Despite being a boisterous young lad, Nicky and Pete are welcoming and excited to have have him back each time to provide excellent one to one daycare. Nicky at The Whippet Lodge has provided a real ‘home from home’ for Norman our lurcher. From the moment I met her I had confidence that she understood the needs and stability sighthounds require. With her gentle manner and willingness to go that extra mile to make sure Norman was settled on his first night made leaving him just that bit easier.

I cannot recommend Nicky and Pete @Whippet Lodge enough!!They looked after my Greyhound for a long weekend. I was really nervous about leaving him but the whole process was a breeze and they made me feel confident about leaving him with them. They are highly knowlegable with Sighthounds and treated my boy like a part of the family. He enjoyed his walks and they regularly sent updates via text and email and even a few pictures. Our boy will be going back next year and probably some time this year too.

Mouse and Fly had a lovely cosy stay at Whippet Lodge. So good to find someone trustworthy who knows the ways of whippets and the creature comforts they expect – sofas and not the floor; lots of snacks; and no long walks in the the rain! Communication was great from Whippet Lodge and nice to be sent updates of Fly and Mouse. Definitely recommend these very friendly dog-sitters.

We have sent our greyhound to Whippet Lodge a number of times over the past few years – ranging from night and day holiday times to daycare and we would highly recommend to anyone with sighthounds. Whippet lodge understand the needs of sighthounds in all aspects but particularly when it comes to cosy sofas and home comforts this breed needs.

Nicky is so warm and caring towards both people and dogs, I was more than happy to leave our girl there. I have left her there without hesitation on several occasions and the last time she did not want to come home! It’s more of a holiday for our dog than daycare.

Dobby stayed at Whippet lodge on quite late notice as some other plans had fallen through. I had found whippet lodge online so was nervous about leaving Dobby there. Nicky was fantastic and made me feel at ease when booking her in and made it clear she has all the relevant licensing and vet contacts needed. Nicky kept us updated throughout the weekend with pictures of Dobby. Would definitely recommend.

Sasha and Tango have just returned from a fabulous stay at Whippet Lodge. I was a little apprehensive leaving them somewhere new, but Nicky reassured me they would be fine and safe. She was also more than happy to administer medication to both my whippets which can be a little confusing. Nicky was very organised and had a chart which she used to make sure everything was given at the right time. I loved the fact Nicky sent photos of them having a lovely time on walks and chilling in the garden! I wouldn’t have any hesitation in leaving them both with Nicky and Pete again as I know they will be well cared for while we are away. The whippets seemed to have had a lovely time too and were happy and relaxed when I collected them.

My whippet puppy, Dewi, aged four and a half months has just spent his first time away from home with Nicky and Pete at the Whippet Lodge. He spent five nights in their excellent care. Nicky sent photographs every day to keep me updated on Dew’s activites and well being and showed real care in every aspect of his stay. Dewi was obviously very happy and was beautifully looked after in every way. My only negative is that Nicky and Pete are so wonderful in their jobs, that they were fully booked for another date I had! Booking way ahead is absolutely necessary for this wonderful dog care. It is a ” home from home” environment, where the dogs are part of the family. I highly recommend the Whippet lodge and will definitely be getting organised very well in advance in order to secure lodging in the future. Thank you Nicky and Pete .

Zen had a really lovely stay at Nicky’s and returned home happy and calm. Nicky took zen in as if he was one of her own and was really attentive to his individual needs. We have left our Whippet Skye to stay at Whippet Lodge for occasional overnight stays a few times and she is always so well looked after and happy.

so when we decided to go away over the Christmas period for 12 nights we didn’t hesitate in asking Nicky to take care of her.

Skye gets so excited as soon as we pull up and she knows where she is which is so lovely to see. Its so nice to be able to relax knowing she is in the best hands and treated as part of the family. We had photo updates throughout her stay which we love to see. 

Whippet Lodge really is a absolute gem of a place and we are super happy to have found such a lovely “holiday home” for our gorgeous pooch! Thanks Nicky and Peter.

Delilah is a ten year old rescue lurcher and Percy is a four year old whippet. We were going on holiday for 8 days and neither dog had stayed away before. Both dogs are nervous at home and Percy has no recall so we were quite nervous about how things might go but we absolutely needn’t have been. Nicky listened so carefully to what the dogs needed before we arrived and provided reassurance. She also sent us lovely pictures of them relaxing and on walks. Nicky took the special needs of the dogs all in her stride. Both dogs adapted brilliantly they didn’t show their anxiousness and ate well due to the personal care and attention she gave. They were treated so well and in such a homely environment we couldn’t have asked for more- thank you so much.

Just wanted to drop you a quick message to thank you so much for looking after Lilly, our 2-year-old Whippet in January this year. It was the first time she has stayed away from us and I can most certainly say we will be using your services every time we need to board her. It is always a worry when you leave ‘part’ of the family, however we needn’t have worried as she was very well looked after for the 2 weeks she stayed in your beautiful house . The regular updates on her walks and adventures certainly helped.
